Samsung Galaxy A54 Full Overview

Samsung Galaxy A54 Review and Specifications:

Samsung has released a new smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy A54. It’s not as expensive as their high-end flagship phone, the Galaxy S23+, costing only 450 quid. Despite being more affordable, the Samsung Galaxy A54 still has some impressive features like a Super AMOLED screen and a 50-megapixel camera sensor for better low-light photos. Unlike the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S23, the A54 uses a chipset called Exodus from a company called Samis. So, the big question is, does the Galaxy A54 perform well? Well, I can’t say it made me want to drink more, but I did enjoy testing it out. If you want to know more about the Galaxy A54, check out my full review. And if you’re interested in the latest tech, don’t forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell. Cheers! Now, let’s talk about the 6.4-inch screen on this phone.

Samsung Galaxy A54 Design

I got a phone with a smaller screen than most new phones, but it has these thick borders around it that make it harder to hold. It’s also pretty heavy, weighing 202 grams. If you want a smaller phone at this price, you might want to check out Google’s Pixel 6A instead. Samsung is offering the Galaxy A54 in some cool colors like graphite, white, lime, and violet. I really like the lime color the best, even though I wouldn’t call it “awesome,” just really nice. The rest of the design is pretty basic, nothing special. It’s functional but not exciting to look at. The Samsung Galaxy A54 is made with Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, which is really tough. Even though it’s sandwiched between plastic, it’s still in perfect condition even after being in my pocket with other stuff. But if you drop the A54, it might get some big scratches because it’s not as durable. The A54 is also water and dust-resistant, so you can drop it in water and it should be fine. That’s still a pretty rare feature. This type of price range is not offered by many other mid-range phones.

The water resistance level of the Pixel 6E is only matched by the iPhone SE, but who wants to buy that? The Galaxy One UI 5.1 looks quite similar to the s23, and the software that Samsung has added is almost the same. The UI feels really smooth and the animations are nice. However, there are some things that bother me about the UI. Samsung insists on having its own versions of almost every Google service, like smart home stuff, contactless payments, and health tracking. Even the keyboard is different, but I always change it to gboard. And let’s not forget about Bixby, the voice assistant that not everyone loves. Basically, there are two ways to do everything on a Samsung phone.

And it’s just really messy, unlike Samsung. They still have a lot of unnecessary apps like LinkedIn, Facebook, and booking. But luckily, you can easily get rid of all that. I’ve also noticed a few bugs with the Samsung Galaxy a54. Sometimes it just randomly restarts, like it can’t be bothered with life anymore. I totally get how it feels. And one day, for a few hours, the Google Discover feed just didn’t show up, no matter how much I swiped. But on the bright side, this phone should last you a long time. Samsung promises four Android updates and five years of security updates. Plus, I really like some of Samsung’s features, like the routines, always-on display, and game mods. The version I reviewed has 128 gigs of storage, which is the base model, and costs 450 quid. If you want more space, you can pay an extra 50 quid, which is still way better than upgrading an iPhone. And you don’t even need to because this phone has a micro SD memory card slot. It also supports e-sims and physical Sims, so no worries there. And it has 5G and Wi-Fi 6 for connectivity. So, for this price, you’re getting a phone that’s packed with great features and functionality.

Display & audio

Samsung Galaxy a54 Display

Samsung is known for their awesome display technology, and the Samsung Galaxy a54 is no exception. The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen is one of the best you can find at this price. The visuals are clear and vibrant, making everything look amazing. It even supports HDR10 and HDR10+ for even better picture quality. Whether you’re watching videos or streaming on Netflix, the Galaxy a54 delivers lifelike images. The screen is also bright enough to see outdoors, and the refresh rate is super smooth at 120 hertz.

Now let’s talk about the speakers. The stereo speaker setup on the Samsung Galaxy a54 is great. I watched a lot of episodes of my favorite show while doing chores, and I didn’t need headphones because the sound was so good. It even has Dolby Atmos support, which makes the audio even more immersive. Just keep in mind that these features are turned off by default, so you’ll need to go into the settings to turn them on.

Unfortunately, there’s no headphone jack on the Samsung Galaxy a54. They got rid of it in the previous model, which is a bummer. But don’t worry, the Bluetooth 5.3 streaming works perfectly fine. You can connect your wireless headphones or speakers without any issues. Overall, the Galaxy a54 is a great phone for watching videos and enjoying high-quality sound.

Performance & gaming

One of the coolest things about the Galaxy f54 is its brain, called the Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset. It’s making its first appearance on this phone, which is pretty exciting. But to be honest, I was a little scared because last year’s Galaxy Air 53 had a bad performance with the Exynos chip. I was worried that this year’s phone would have the same problem and be a mess. But luckily, that wasn’t the case. The Galaxy a54 can handle any app you throw at it, even if you have multiple apps open at the same time. Gamers will be happy too because you can play demanding games with good graphics and a stable frame rate. And don’t worry, the phone doesn’t get too hot even if you use it for a long time. However, I did notice that sometimes it got a little warm for no reason when I was just doing normal things like browsing the web. It wasn’t a big deal though. Samsung’s gaming mode is pretty basic compared to other phones, but it can block notifications, which is helpful if you want to focus on your game. Overall, the Galaxy a54 is a great phone to have.

Battery life of Samsung Galaxy A54

The Samsung Galaxy a54 is really impressive when it comes to battery life. Samsung packed a 5,000 milliamp hour capacity battery into this cool lime-colored phone. I was able to use it all day without worrying about it dying, even when I was taking lots of pictures, video chatting, or using apps. I usually get about five to six hours of screen time before I go to bed, and I still have around 15 to 20 percent battery left. However, charging the phone wirelessly is a bit slow compared to other phones like Xiaomi’s Redmi Note. Also, the phone doesn’t come with a charger adapter or support wireless charging.

Cameras:

Samsung Galaxy a54 Camera

The new upgrade for the year 54 is called “Samis.” It has a fancy camera with 50 megapixels and something called Optical Image Stabilization. This means it takes better pictures in low light. Unfortunately, when I tested the camera on the Samsung Galaxy a54, I noticed that the shutter speed was slow. So, if you’re trying to take a picture of something that moves, it might end up blurry. But if you time it just right, you can get a really nice portrait picture. Plus, you can change the background after you take the picture. The colors in the photos might not always look natural, but overall, they still look good. Even in bright light, the Samsung Galaxy A54 takes well-balanced pictures. And in normal lighting, the pictures still look clear. It’s not until later that the quality starts to decrease.

So, when it comes to taking pictures with the Samsung phone, there’s a little problem called noise that can sneak into your photos. But don’t worry, Samsung’s night mode can help make things brighter and sharper. However, if you’re trying to capture something that’s moving, like a person or an animal, it might end up looking blurry or weird.

Now, besides the main 50 megapixel camera, the Samsung Galaxy A54 also has a 12 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera. It’s not super fancy, but it can come in handy if you want a different kind of photo or if you’re trying to capture something really huge. And there’s also a 5 megapixel macro camera, which is great for extreme close-up shots.

and here’s the cool part! Samsung phones have lots of extra camera modes. There’s even a mode just for taking pictures of food, if you’re into that. It makes your dinner look even more delicious by enhancing the colors and textures. And my personal favorite is the fun mode, which is just a blast to use. It’s so much fun that it might make you laugh too much!

Now, let’s talk about videos. If you switch to video mode, you can shoot really high-quality footage in 4K Ultra HD. It looks super crisp and clear, and the audio sounds great too. Overall, for a phone in this price range, the Samsung A54 does a really good job with both photos and videos.

Let me tell you all about the Samsung Galaxy a54. First off, it has a really cool stabilization feature, which means your pictures and videos will look nice and steady. Plus, it has a 32 Meg selfie shooter, which takes great pictures in any lighting. It even has a screen flash for when it’s dark, although it can be a bit too bright sometimes.

Now, let’s talk about the video quality. You can record videos in 4K resolution, which is pretty awesome. Not many mid-range phones can do that. And when it comes to audio, it works well with apps like Skype and Zoom, so you can have fun with all your online videos.

Overall, I really liked the Samsung Galaxy a54. The performance was much better than last year’s model, which was a relief. The phone is great for watching videos and taking pictures, and the battery life is solid too. The only downside is that there’s some unnecessary software, but it’s not a big deal.

So, if you have the older model, the a53, I definitely recommend upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy A54. It’ll save you some stress. And if you’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy A54, let me know what you think in the comments below.  Have a fantastic week!
